If you know our history, you will know where Steve Martin is coming from

Roots are the foundation to the lives we build and pass on to future generations. There is nothing more important than overstanding the past to ensure our future success.

This weeks guest Steve Martin is an author, historian, journalist and teacher who specialises in Black British history and literature. He wrote 'Britain's Slave Trade' for Channel 4 Books which accompanied it's television documentary 'Windrush' and 'Incomparable World', charting the progress of three black exiles living in 18th-century London, and has written works of fiction for children to widen the consciousness and knowledge of the slave trade.
